Valencia 1976. Musician from Quart de Poblet (Valencia), founder of the Societat Artistico-Musical “La Unió”.
Leandro studied music, specializing in saxophone at the CEM Torrent, the CSM “Joaquín Rodrigo” of Valencia and the RCSM in Madrid. Later he studied with Andrés Gomis. He also studied jazz and modern harmony with Ramon Cardo and Daniel Flors. Furthermore, he attended several workshops given by prestigious Jazz Masters.
In the 90’s he worked for the Sociedad Musical “La Artística” of Buñol, as saxophone instructor and performer. He took part in the recording of a number of albums. In Buñol he met his beloved wife. Subsequently, he has performed with major ensembles such the Municipal Band of Seville, Madrid Symphony Orchestra (OSM), Spanish National Orchestra (ONE), Bilbao Symphony Orchestra (BOS) or the Berklee Rainbow Big Band (Boston).
Leandro was memeber of the “Jove Jazz Band” conducted by Jesus Santandreu, where he shared the stage with outstanding valencian jazz musicians like Toni Belenguer, Vicent Macián, Felip Santandreu, Voro Garcia, and Latino. He also participated in the project “New Music for Big Band Vol 2: Valencia in Jazz”. They record an album conducted by Ramon Cardo and Perico Sambeat published by the label Autor (Fundación Autor / SGAE 2005).
